Today marks the launch of Brompton’s second collaboration with Liberty of London, in a refreshing take on London’s unique blend of practicality and style. The capsule comprises Brompton’s four most popular bag silhouettes: Tote, Basket, Backpack and Zip Pouch, all in the iconic Made with Liberty Fabric Metropolis. Selected from Liberty’s enormous archive of over 50,000 pieces, the print pays homage to the birthplace of both Liberty and Brompton, founded only 100 years apart in London.
Over 500,000 Brompton bikes are on the road following its conception in 1975, each designed to make living, working and travelling around a city practical, easy and environmentally friendly. Weighing just 11kg and folding to a 1/3 of their size, a Brompton bike is portable and perfect to pop in the boot of a car, taking on a train or catching the bus if you need to get around another way.
Each bag in the collection attaches to the bike, (the tote and basket have carry handles, too) and are built to withstand the wear and tear that comes with every day use. Highly water resistant and capacious, they are an incredibly useful accessory that are not only practical but stylish too thanks to the bold and bright colours and 3D shapes of the design.
