In an expansion of its acclaimed Bonded Series, Jack Daniel’s has introduced its first-ever Bottled-in-Bond Rye Whiskey, marking a new chapter in the distillery’s storied legacy of whiskey-making excellence. Having officially launched in March, this Tennessee Rye Whiskey is a celebration of craftsmanship, quality, and heritage.
The Bonded Rye stands out as the distillery’s commitment to excellence, bottled at a robust 100-proof (50% alcohol by volume). This release is noteworthy not only for its Bottled-in-Bond designation but also as the first rye whiskey of its kind from Jack Daniel’s. Crafted with a meticulous grain bill comprising 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, the whiskey undergoes charcoal mellowing before ageing in new, handmade American white oak barrels.
This process yields a whiskey rich in nuanced flavours – beginning with sweet dried fruit, it unfolds into layers of toffee and caramel, culminating in a rye spice finish that is both complex and impeccably balanced. The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 sets stringent criteria for what earns the bottled-in-bond label, ensuring that this whiskey not only adheres to but also surpasses expectations for quality and consistency.
Jack Daniel’s, a name synonymous with whiskey excellence, continues to set the bar high. Established in 1866 and recognized as the first registered distillery in the United States, Jack Daniel’s has not only played a pivotal role in whiskey history but continues to shape its future with innovations like the Bonded Rye Whiskey.
The Jack Daniel’s Bonded Series, which already includes the likes of Jack Daniel’s Bonded and Triple Mash, now proudly welcomes the Bonded Rye to its family. Available in 70cl bottles across the UK, whiskey enthusiasts can find this exquisite offering online here at Master of Malt.
