El Limon Restaurant

This aristocratic residence is set around a classic Andalusian patio, sun-drenched covered courtyards that offer a relaxed seating area to read or enjoy a drink, and another that is home to the hotel’s gastronomic dining, El Limon Restaurant. Facing the street is the restaurant’s bar, a magnificent space that feels bright and contemporary yet cleverly embodies references to the city’s rich cultural and architectural past, with references to traditional bars, and even as far back as Al Andaluz with a wonderful Mozarab ceiling design. Start the evening here with a signature cocktail, like the El Naranjo, with gin, Flor de Sevilla, red vermouth, and a splash of amaretto, evocative of the fragrant streets filled with orange blossom. Then head into the courtyard that for me felt like a space filled with the essence of an eternal spring. Frensh flowers on the table, lemon trees around the fountain and extravagant decoration of blossoms immerses you in an exotic world of sensations.

You can try the tasty tapas, for bite size morsels of divine flavours like the trilogy of homemade croquettes, the mini salmon burger with avocado, or the paring cannelloni. But if you are anything like me, you will want to continue to indulge, enjoying dishes from the a la carte menu including wild sea bream, steak tartare, a flavoursome presa ibérica or classic oxtail.

The wine list celebrates Spain’s place aa a major world producer and includes local Andalusian wines like the delicious Sevilla white wine Cueva la Sima.

It’s a treat to know you only have to head upstairs to sleep. Passing through the elegant lobby of palms in gorgeous ceramic pots, and past vintage details and fine art you reach the lift that will take you to our suite.

We stayed in the Don Ramon Suite, a signature accommodation with a private terrace and delightful salon.

During our stay I saw the concierge busy organising private trips to Cordoba, arranging a private tour of the Alcazaba fort in Seville, and making dinner reservations at sought-after venues.
