But this new release from the renowned whisky house is designed to be enjoyed with a mixer, or crafted into a cocktail. Its creation involved the input of top bartenders from around the world, to ensure the perfect serve.
An explosion of flavours
Moving away from the more traditional peaty notes, these bottles offer a distinctly sweet and fruity flavour. Pear, vanilla, honeysuckle, orange sherbet and chocolate fudge are all in there. The resulting taste is sweet and rich, suiting a range of mixers, and perfect for lip-smacking cocktails. And with a softer more honeyed tone than many of its smokier counterparts, X is quaffable at any time of the day – be it brunch, lunch or supper.
Loaded with flavour potential
This is undoubtedly a drink with the x-factor. Made in Scotland’s tallest stills, the beverage is then aged in the world’s finest bourbon or new char oak casks. Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, says of the new spirit: “X by Glenmorangie came from our dream of creating even more flavour possibilities, with a single malt that’s made to mix. Consulting with top bartenders, we crafted this sweeter, richer single malt for all those enjoying mixing at home”.
